Dear All
There are many ways that you can offer your input into this web site:
1. If you have a good knowledge of WordPress and how to publish a blog, you may become an editor of these pages.
2. As an editor you may post news, articles, stories, photos. You need to have access to dashboard.
3. As readers, anyone can comment on published material in the comments which follow any post on the blog and some pages.
4. The top navigation menu has submenus (move the mouse over a menu to see subpages ) and this allow more pages to be published under each category. Pages are alos listed in the sidebar
5. Posts are stamped with the date of publishing so they are suitable for news and recent events or announcements. The number of posts is limitless as they can be categorised. If you look at the Footer of the pages, there is left, middle and right footer section. The right section contains a dropdown menu of categories of the posts. The left Contact Us and the middle Join BAPA (we need a postal address).
6. If you have news or articles or announcements to publish send them to the editors or the BAPA email on the server (mail@bapauk.com). We will consider the possibility of posting material directly by email in the future.
7. The front page can be changed later to reflect more about the Arab Psychiatrists and aims of BAPA. It can take many forms.
8. We may have a photo gallery. I have put some photos of old BAPA annual meeting as an example, we need more recent photos. We may also put names of members, qualifications, work and interests and contact numbers for those interested on the members pages.
9. Other pages may be added. Links also may be updated and added. Images and documents can be easily linked to from any page.
10. BAPA Publications : It is better for documents to be published as web pages to be accessible to search engines rather than word docs or pdf, except powerpoint and videos. However, I linked them as they are so they need to be downloaded to be opened.

Dear all,
Welcome to BAPA new web site.
The executive committee have extensively discussed the way of improving communications among BAPA members and one way forward was to improve on the website. This has become possible after Dr Sabry Abdel Fattah has kindly offered his expertise and support on editing it. The site can develop much more and this is only possible when all members contribute to it in whatever way they can.
We currently working on updating the details of BAPA members on the yahoo group which eventually can be added to the website if members agree, so please respond when you receive the e-mail regarding this in either way.
I would like to take this opportunity to ask for your support and participation to ensure that this new web page provide better means of communications for members and the public as a whole.
Best regards
Dr Nadim Almoshmosh
BAPA President
Dear all,
I hope this message finds you all well and in good health.
Here is a brief update on how the recent events of Great Partnership and BAPA-AGM went. For those who managed to attend I am sure you will agree with me that it was a real success despite the freezing weather. The attendance exceeded our expectations and the talks and interactive sessions were well received with very positive feedback and appreciation from all.
The success of the meeting came as a result of dedication and hard work from BAPA team in co-operation with the chairs and some executive members of other associations within the GP.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all BAPA members who have contributed in making this meeting a success in particular Dr S El-Hilu, Dr Feras Mustafa, Dr Sarmad Nadeem, Dr Mohamed Abdel Maksoud and to everyone else who have helped and supported us as I can’t list everyone.
There are current and future challenges facing doctors and may be more so for those with different ethnic backgrounds i.e. possible discrimination in MRCPsych exam results, higher number of doctors referred to GMC and less occupation of important positions at the College from this group to name only a few which were discussed at the conference.
The Great Partnership which include BAPA will be working more closely in the future to try and positively influence some of the above outcomes and it has already made a recent success by influencing the College decision re extending the opportunity for MRCPsych part-1 holders.
BAPA-AGM took place over the weekend and there were encouraging remarks from members who attended for BAPA to progress and prosper. For this to happen we agreed that more efforts from all members need to be put together, so please continue all your efforts of support.
Election took place and new executive committee was elected as follows:
Dr Nadim Almoshmosh Chair
Dr Mahmoud S Ahmed as Vice Chair,
5 Executive Officers:
Dr Husni Al-Robb
Dr Hesham Rustom
Dr Feras Mustafa
Dr Sarmad Nadeem
Dr Muhamed Abdel Maksoud
Duties and roles will be distributed shortly.
I would like to thank you all for putting your confidence in us and I hope we will live up to your expectations.
Best wishes
Nadim Almoshmosh
